Strengthening the  connections around young people and their families.

Passionate peers and fierce allies building supportive, stigma-free environments where young people impacted by the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use can unlearn the shame and reclaim their stories.

What do we do?

We work to challenge harmful stories, improve support systems, and build community-based solutions that support healing from the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use by strengthening young people, families, and communities.

Nothing about us without us.

We honour the lived experiences of our peers as valid and legitimate.

Peers with lived and living experience with the stress & stigma of a parent's substance use, whose voices have historically been omitted or silenced, lead the development of all our resources, research, and training ensuring relevancy and effectiveness.

What people are saying.

Alberta Caregiver--Hope Kit Recipient

I’m in tears after receiving your hope kit for my kids-Thank you! I’ve passed on your information to other Al-anon members. Thanks for all you do.
The feedback I've received from the youth has been overwhelmingly positive - your grief journal was validating and helpful for them to understand and organize their thoughts and feelings. One youth remarked that she can't talk to anyone about her mom's substance use because no one wants to hear it, and even if they did she didn't want to traumatize them too...

Youth Worker, Ontario

The focus of your work is inviting a huge shift in understanding stigma. Thank you.

Youth Mental Health and Substance Use, Foundry North Shore. Adjunct Faculty, Adler University.

Thanks for being here.

We are all a part of the village raising the next generation. How can you BEST contribute.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. Finally, we remain committed to continue to learn about the truth regarding Colonialism and residential schools in Canada, and will actively work towards reconciliation while advocating for our government to do so as well.
